A Taste of Italy Comes to Disney Springs
While strolling around Disney Springs this past weekend, I found the new Vivoli Il Gelato and was so excited to give it a try! This gelateria originated right in Florence, Italy and has chosen Disney Springs to open a store in North America.
When you go inside, it is very clean and the tile on the floors reminds you of what a small shop in Italy would be like. You order and pay at the cash register first and then move on to telling the cast member what flavor you would like.
When I ordered, I asked the woman what the most popular flavors were in Italy. She said the chocolate chip and for those who like fruit, the strawberry was made with fresh strawberries. While they both sounded amazing, I opted for the chocolate chip. I found it to be smooth and creamy and the chips were small and mixed in very well.
You can get your gelato in a cup or cone and they also offer small bites to eat, including small sandwiches and pastries. For my piccola (small) cup, it was $5, and yes, the cup was relatively small, but that seems to be the norm with gelato type things. Also, for a limited time (or so it is advertised), annual passholders can get 10% off at the shop. Drop me a line and let me know your thoughts if you have tried out this new sweet spot!
